The only remnants of the Temple today is what is
known as the Western Wall (the Kotel ).
Jews come from all over the world to pray for their
daily needs, the healing of the sick and for the
final redemption of the Jewish people with the
rebuilding of the third temple.

In recent years the area near the wall was cleared of houses
for visitors, worshippers and tourist.
 
The Al-Aqsa Mosque now sits in the are of the main hall
and Jews are forbidden to enter the area by Jewish law.
The reason for this is that only Kohanim (priests) are
allowed near the holy of the holies since the exact spot of
the holy of the holies is unknown it is restricted to
Jews.
